Our Team
Allea Noren, MOT, OTR/L
One of two occupational therapists on this team, based at our Batavia clinic, with a particular interest in emotional regulation, executive functioning, ADHD and autism spectrum disorder.
The second OT on this team.
Allea Noren is one of two occupational therapists here, seeing patients at the Batavia clinic. She grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago and had a few developmental delays of her own as a child that required OT services, which is where the interest in this field started. She graduated from Elmhurst University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, then earned her Master of Occupational Therapy from North Central College.
Her clinical experience runs across a range of settings: partnering with a children’s museum on accessibility and inclusion recommendations, acute care hospital work, and adolescent mental health settings, alongside years of hands-on experience with kids as a tutor, babysitter, adapted swim instructor, and peer life coach for a student with a disability.
What she works on.
Allea has a particular interest in emotional dysregulation, executive functioning difficulties, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder, alongside the everyday fine motor and sensory work occupational therapy is best known for.
- Emotional regulation and coping strategies
- Executive functioning: planning, sequencing, follow-through
- Support for ADHD and autism spectrum disorder
What a family can expect.
Allea works to include patients and families in the decision-making process at every step, rather than handing over a plan and hoping it fits. The goal is confidence: a child who believes they can actually do the things they are being asked to do, not just told to try harder.
Your child works one-on-one with a licensed specialist, matched to their specific needs, every visit. Start with an evaluation and you leave knowing what is going on, what we are going to do about it, and roughly how long it should take.
