With its beautiful trails and animals, Red Oak is a wonderful place to visit when exploring the Kane County area. Red Oak is open year-round so there’s no excuse not to go! Red Oaks even has a membership if you plan on going multiple times throughout the year.
Red Oak’s main focus is on environmental science and natural history interpretation to provide students with hands-on experiences in nature through trail walks, field trips, programs, and activities. Visitors are encouraged to explore over 500 acres of prairie grasslands as well as forested wetlands by foot or horseback. Red Oak also has many animals including bison, pigs, goats, llamas & alpacas among others. There are also several gardens throughout the property for visitors to enjoy!
